The Meat Facility Standards is a policy document legislated by the Meat Inspection Regulation, Alberta Regulation 42/2003, Section 15.1. It describes regulatory requirements for facility infrastructure and food production controls, including written documentation. The Meat Facility Standards applies to all provincially licensed abattoirs and mobile butcher facilities.
The sections below provide Meat Facility Standards Resources, highlighting documentation-related elements. These resources are intended to support operators in developing or updating written materials and do not represent standalone documentation requirements in all cases.
