References to English as a Second Language References to “English as a Second Language” have been replaced with “English as an Additional Language” to align with changes to the Funding Manual for School Authorities and the new Alberta K-12 English as an Additional Language (EAL) Proficiency Benchmarks (Benchmarks 2.0).
The descriptions have been updated to reflect new curriculum. An updated email address has been provided for
New Curriculum Subject Names Updates have been made to several sections to include the new Kindergarten to Grade 6 curriculum subject area names as part of the implementation of the new curriculum.

For example, Kindergarten to Grade 6 English Language Arts is now called English Language Arts and Literature.
