UPDATE – June 6 – The Wildfire continues to burn in Wood Buffalo and fire crews continue to fight this fire and the public needs to be cautious while in the area. In a few hours this Emergency Alert will be cancelled on this system, and the public is encouraged to keep informed of this Wildfire, and other related advisories, by following some of the below websites.

Government of Alberta Emergency Updates - http://emergency.alberta.ca This site has information and hyperlinks to other sites, regarding Health, Fire and Off-Highway Vehicle Bans, as well as air, ash, soil, and water testing, and other related information regarding the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo. Alberta Wildfires - http://wildfire.alberta.ca/ or http://wildfire.alberta.ca/wildfire-status/default.aspx Residents of Wood Buffalo can also receive non–emergency text messaging from Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo by texting 311 and placing the word FORT in the message area of the text.

Action to take:

• There are fire crews, fire vehicles, and traffic in the area and the public must drive cautiously
• Do not drink the water from the Ft
• McMurray water system unless it can be safely boiled first
• Seek medical attention if you experience breathing difficulties
