Description: Alberta Emergency Alert - Wildfire Alert Updated

North edge of fire is growing rapidly. Highway 63 is closed at MacKenzie Boulevard intersection due to fire breaching highway at that point. Mandatory evacuation now in effect for downtown except MacDonald Island, Thickwood, Gregoire, Abasand, Grayling Terrace, Beaconhill, Waterways and Centennial Trailer Park.

Action to take:

  • Residents from downtown, Abasand and Grayling Terrace should go to the Reception Centre at MacDonald Island at 1 C.A
  • Knight Way
  • Residents from Beaconhill, Gregoire and Centennial Park should go to the Anzac Recreation Centre
  • Residents from Thickwood should go to Noralta Lodge which is 21 km north of Fort McMurray across from Suncor overpass
