Description: Alberta Emergency Alert - Wildfire Alert Updated

UPDATE of May 9 – Mandatory evacuation orders are still in effect for Fort McMurray, Anzac, & Fort McMurray First Nation and only emergency personnel working on fire suppression, policing, and infrastructure responders are permitted in these areas. The Fort McMurray Airport is operational but continues to be used for Wildfire Aircraft operations only.

Action to take:

  • The public should not be in the areas which have mandatory evacuation orders in place, and if they are in any of these areas they must leave immediately
  • Follow the directions of local authorities
  • Seek medical attention if you experience breathing difficulties
