UPDATE of May 14 – The Wildfire continues to burn in Wood Buffalo, and numerous areas are experiencing heavy smoke which is affecting visibility, and can cause breathing issues. Extreme care should be taken in these areas. Resources continue to fight and monitor this wildfire. The evacuation orders for Fort McMurray, Anzac, & Fort McMurray First Nation remain in effect.

A Boil Water Advisory is in effect for all areas receiving water from the Fort McMurray water system, and water from this system must be safely and properly boiled before it is consumed. The Fort McMurray Airport continues to be used for Wildfire Aircraft operations only, and is closed to commercial and private aircraft until further notice. Only emergency personnel working on fire suppression, policing, and infrastructure responders are permitted in areas under evacuation orders. The Fire Ban remains in effect for the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and the public should check Local and Provincial websites for Fire Bans in other areas of Alberta.
