Description: Alberta Emergency Alert - Wildfire Alert Updated

North edge of fire is growing rapidly. Highway 63 is closed at MacKenzie Boulevard intersection due to fire breaching highway at that point. Mandatory evacuation now in effect for Abasand, Beaconhill, Dickinsfield, Downtown, Draper, Grayling Terrace, Gregoire, Lower Townsite, Saline Creek, Thickwood, Waterways, Wood Buffalo.

Action to take:

  • Residents from Abasand, Downtown, Draper, Grayling Terrace, Lower Townsite and Waterways go to MacDonald Island at 1 C.A
  • Knight Way
  • Residents from Dickinsfield,Thickwood, Wood Buffalo go to Noralta Lodge which is 21 km north of Fort McMurray across from Suncor overpass
  • Residents from Saline Creek, Beaconhill, and Gregoire go to the Anzac Rec Centre.
