Description: Alberta Emergency Alert - Wildfire Alert Updated of May 30
UPDATE of May 30 – The Wildfire remains out of control in Wood Buffalo, and responding agencies are suppressing and monitoring the fire to ensure the public’s safety. Mandatory evacuation orders are still in place, and work continues to restore services and to ensure these areas are as safe as possible for the expected phased re-entry of the public.
Air quality remains a concern for anyone in the area of Wood Buffalo, especially for persons with lung disease, and care needs to be used while in this area. A Boil Water Advisory is in effect for all areas receiving water from the Fort McMurray water system, and water from this system must be safely and properly boiled before it is consumed. Action to take:
- Air quality remains a concern in this area and everyone in the area must take proper breathing precautions, especially those people with lung disease
- Seek medical attention if you experience breathing difficulties
- Workers continue to restore services in areas under mandatory evacuation orders and the public should not enter these areas as they are currently not safe.
