Types of permits
The Alberta government assists landowners, developers, consultants and municipalities with activities on or near provincial highways. We consider highway safety, travel efficiency and the protection of transportation infrastructure when approving highway use permits and authorizations for:
- Highway access
- Sign installations
- Utility line installations
- Events hosting or filming
- Seismic operations
- Solar power generation developments
- Hay cutting within highway right-of-way
