MEP – Compliance officers

Maintenance Enforcement Program (MEP) clients have a designated compliance officer assigned to their file.

There are 4 ways to contact your compliance officer:

Hours: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday) and 9:00 am to 4:00 pm (Wednesday)

To speak to your compliance officer

  1. When prompted, press ‘5’.
  2. Enter your compliance officer's 5-digit FSOS ID.

For specific actions on your file

  1. When prompted, press ‘3’.
  2. Log in with your file number and PIN.

If you don't know your file number or PIN

When asked for your file number:

  • Press ‘0’ followed by another ‘0’ to be transferred to the MEP Referral Line.

For general information or basic file inquiries

When prompted:

  • Press ‘0’ to be transferred to the MEP Referral Line.

Changing your compliance officer

MEP will only reassign a client’s file to a different compliance officer if the current compliance officer determines a conflict of interest due to a personal relationship with the party on their file. For example, the client is the compliance officer’s cousin’s spouse.

Compliance officer's job

Compliance officers respond to phone calls, emails, faxes and letters in the order they get them. They will assist you by taking specific actions on your file.

Your compliance officer will help you with your file by doing things like:

  • discussing collection actions on your file
  • negotiating your payment arrangement
  • obtaining information on your payments that have not been released
  • getting more information about a decision made on your file
