Proclamations

Overview

Bills become law when they have received Royal Assent. To learn more about the process, see how the Alberta government works.

If an act or portion of an act comes into force on proclamation, the Lieutenant Governor makes an order to proclaim, which is posted in Orders in Council. After proclamations are signed as an Order in Council, they are published in Part 1 of The Alberta Gazette.

• Early Learning and Child Care Amendment Act, 2024 (SA 2024 c13). Sections 4(c), 16, to the extent that it enacts sections 18.921(2) and 18.922(3), 20 and 21(a)(v) proclaimed in force on September 30, 2025. Amends the Early Learning and Child Care Act (SA 2007 cE-0.1).
• Education Amendment Act, 2024 (SA 2024 c14). Sections 6, 7, 8(b), (c) and (d) and 9 to 13 proclaimed in force on September 1, 2025. Amends the Education Act (SA 2012 cE-0.3).
• Education Amendment Act, 2025 (SA 2025 c6).
