This list of proclamations is updated after they are signed as an Order in Council.

Overview

Bills become law when they have received Royal Assent. To learn more about the process, see how the Alberta government works.

If an act or portion of an act comes into force on proclamation, the Lieutenant Governor makes an order to proclaim, which is posted in Orders in Council. After proclamations are signed as an Order in Council, they are published in Part 1 of The Alberta Gazette.

  • Access to Information Act (SA 2024 cA-1.4). Proclaimed in force on June 11, 2025. The Protection of Privacy Act (SA 2024 cP-28.5) also comes into force. Repeals the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (RSA 2000 cF-25).
  • Agricultural Operation Practices Amendment Act, 2025 (SA 2025 c4). Proclaimed in force on June 23, 2025. Amends the Agricultural Operation Practices Act (RSA 2000 cA-7).
  • Early Learning and Child Care Amendment Act, 2024 (SA 2024 c13). Sections 4(c), 16, to the extent that it enacts sections 18.921(2) and 18.922(3), 20 and 21(a)(v) proclaimed in force on September 30, 2025. Amends the Early Learning and Child Care Act (SA 2007 cE-0.1).
