    The Flexible Spending Account (FSA) Plan will include the existing non-taxable Health Spending Account (HSA) and a new taxable Wellness Spending Account (WSA). The FSA consists of an annual credit allotment provided to eligible employees for expenses not covered by their benefit plan.       • As a first point of contact for the public on the phone, via email or in person, program support roles explain the requirements, processes and benefits of a program.
      • Managing highly sensitive office correspondence, including emails, fax, paper and electronic documents. Manages records, maintains scheduling calendars, and orders office supplies.

        • Employment, Training, and Financial Administrative Support
    • Office and administrative support
      • Office and administrative support drafts and formats office correspondence, including emails, manages records, maintains manager calendars, and orders office supplies.

        • Records Technician
    • Financial support
      • Supports finance teams to ensure completion of financial documents in the areas of expenditures, reconciliation and petty cash, as well as reviewing transactions for accuracy and completeness.
      • Examples:

        • Revenue Administrator
        • Payments Clerk
    • Call centre support
      • This position provides information and handles public inquiries regarding major government announcements, public consultation initiatives or major incidents such as a natural disaster or pandemic.
      • Examples:

    • Legal support
      • Ensures completion and compliance within applicable legislation, regulation and policy, and provides a range of services support to Crown prosecutors, Court of King's Bench, criminal justice and corrections systems and staff.
      • Examples:

    • Human Resource Support
      • Positions are responsible for scheduling, preparing and distributing hearing packages, timely data entry into the Customer Relations Management system. Also focuses on tracking/reporting, coordination, process implementation and administration.

        • Labour Relations Applications Process Clerk
        • Labour Relations Correspondence Process Clerk
        • HR Portfolio Administrative Assistant
    • Social Services Support
      • Positions provide support to front-line services for programs that support seniors, children/youth, and vulnerable populations. These positions are responsible for responding to inquiries from stakeholders and the public, redirecting them to the appropriate government offices and resources, managing forms and records with highly sensitive information in accordance with FOIP, and reviewing various financial transactions.

  • Application process

    1. Create a candidate profile on the Government of Alberta jobs board.
    2. Upload your resume and cover letter to your profile.
    3. Apply to the Administrative Talent Pool job posting.
    4. Answer pre-screening questions.
    5. If you are successful in screening, you will be tested on your technical skills.
    6. If you pass the technical assessment, you will be invited to a 45-minute to one-hour interview.
    7. If you pass the interview, you will move into the ATP as a qualified candidate.
    8. You will be contacted when a department has an opportunity to fill an Administrative Support 3 or 4 position.
    9. If you confirm your interest in the position, you may be contacted for an interview.

    Active application time

    Once your application is available for referral to departments, it will remain active for 6 months on a qualified candidate listing.

    After 6 months, you will need to reapply to the ATP competition.
