The resources below offer information, support, and next steps for anyone affected by gender-based violence, including family violence, human trafficking, sexual violence, elder and child abuse.

Understanding violence

  • Human trafficking: Learn how we can work together to reduce the crime of human trafficking and help people at risk.
  • Family violence: Learn where to turn when faced with family violence or domestic violence and know your rights and the law.
  • Sexual violence: Information about all forms of sexual violence, including who is most likely impacted.
  • Elder abuse: Recognize signs of elder abuse and learn how to get help.
  • Child abuse, neglect and sexual exploitation: Find supports and know what happens when child abuse, neglect or sexual exploitation are reported.

Prevention and support

  • Gender-based violence prevention: We can prevent and end gender-based violence, support survivors and address the root causes of why it happens.
  • Help for victims of crime: Find help, financial assistance, community victim services units and other supports if you have been a victim of a violent crime.
  • Clare’s Law: People at risk of domestic violence have the right to get information about potentially harmful intimate partners.
  • Restraining and protection orders: Get a restraining or protection order, and how to respond if you have been served an order.
