Alberta’s government is taking another step to grow the economy and attract major investment by designating the Greenview Industrial Gateway as a Designated Industrial Zone.
Designated Industrial Zones provide companies with a clearer path to plan and advance major projects by reducing unnecessary duplication, streamlining regulatory processes and providing greater certainty for investors, while maintaining Alberta’s strong environmental standards.
“Designated Industrial Zones offer an opportunity to attract billions in investment and create good-paying jobs by reducing duplication and red tape while maintaining Alberta’s strong environmental standards and supporting responsible economic growth.”
Working with the Municipal District of Greenview and project partners, Alberta’s government will finalize an implementation framework to coordinate regulatory processes, plan infrastructure and support environmental management. This work will help provide greater certainty for investors, communities and Indigenous partners.
“This is a big step forward for the region and for the people who call it home. The Greenview Industrial Gateway is going to bring good jobs and major investment right here, and this designation gives companies the confidence they need to build in a part of Alberta with so much to offer."
“This designation is an important milestone for the Municipal District of Greenview and our region. We have a vision for the Greenview Industrial Gateway that dates back more than a decade and takes an innovative approach to local economic development. Formalizing the industrial purpose of this area will generate opportunities for investment and good jobs while unlocking the region’s significant economic potential.”
The designation positions the Greenview Industrial Gateway to become a major hub for industrial and technology investment, supporting new opportunities for businesses to invest, innovate and create jobs in Alberta.
