Important notice
Canada Post service disruption
Due to the Canada Post mail strike, expiry dates for temporary Security Worker, Automotive Lock Bypass and Investigator licences issued between October 14, 2024 and December 14, 2024 are extended to February 15, 2025.
Albertans with these licences can continue to work under the Security Services and Investigators Act while awaiting their licence card once mail service is reinstated. Applications will continue to be processed through the Security Services Program and participating Alberta registry agencies.

The Security Programs department issues permits to buy, transport or wear body armour.
