Emergencies and disasters are high stress situations where decisions need to be made in minutes and the stakes are high. Emergency managers rely on strong, credible information to make decisions. The primary way to capture and retain information during disasters is by using scribes.
Scribing for Emergency Management prepares you for the integral role you’ll play in emergency management and how your efforts directly contribute to response efforts. You’ll be taught scribing methods and best practices and how to apply these skills in several training exercises.
The course takes an average of 2 to 4 hours to complete.
To access free online courses, students must play a role in Alberta’s emergency management system and demonstrate that they are from the public sector, or from a non-government organization that is a member of the NGO council.
