Overview

Community Facility Enhancement Program (CFEP) funding provides financial assistance to acquire, build, purchase, repair, renovate, upgrade or expand sports, recreational, cultural or other related public-use community facilities.

CFEP outcomes are to:

  • enhance the lifespan and support the creation of public-use community facilities
  • stimulate economic activity across the province

CFEP has 2 funding streams:

  • Small Funding Stream
  • Large Funding Stream

CFEP Small Funding Stream

For financial assistance up to $125,000.

Annual application deadlines

  • January 15
  • May 15
  • September 15

Projects must be completed within 18 months from the date the payment is received by the organization. Details are in the CFEP Guidelines.

Notification

Applicants will be notified on their application results:

  • July (for January 15 deadline)
  • November (for May 15 deadline)
  • March (for September 15 deadline)

CFEP Large Funding Stream

For financial assistance over $125,000 and up to $1 million.

Annual application deadline

  • June 15

All approved projects completion date will be determined during formal agreement development, but not to exceed 30 months from agreement signing. Details are in the CFEP Guidelines.

Notification

Applicants will be notified about the results:

  • December

Step 3. Submit the application package

Application packages can be emailed to [email protected].

After you apply

During the review process, you may be contacted for more information or clarification by program staff.

Notification will be sent to your organization by email.

All decisions are final, and no appeals will be considered.

If your application was declined, you may submit a new application for the same project if the project has not started. You may also submit a new application if your program has started but project components are not completed nor expensed.

Reporting requirements

CFEP Small Funding Stream

For the CFEP Small Funding Stream reporting, your final accounting and back up documentation needs to be submitted 18 months from date of cheque using the Final CFEP Accountability Report (FCAR) (DOCX, 118 KB).

An accountant is not required to prepare the FCAR.

CFEP Large Funding Stream

For the CFEP Large Funding Stream reporting, you will need to submit reporting based on the signed formal grant agreement requirements.
