Introduction
The province charges timber dues and other fees associated with timber dispositions. These charges, collected under the authority of the Forests Act, ensure Albertans receive fair compensation for the use of publicly owned forest resources. General rates of timber dues are based on forest product prices and are adjusted regularly to reflect changes to market and financial conditions.
In this section, find timber dues letters and rates for the following forest products:

Coniferous lumber, pulp and roundwood timber
Rates for coniferous timber harvested to manufacture lumber, pulp and roundwood timber products from 1994 to present.

Rates for deciduous timber harvested to manufacture pulp from 1995 to present.

Rates for timber harvested to manufacture oriented strand board and veneer products from 1996 to present.
