Basic rules
Alberta law requires information about variances issued by Employment Standards after January 1, 2018 to be made public. The information published includes:
- the name of the employer
- the provisions of the Code or Regulation that were varied
- the effective date and duration of the variance

How the law applies
Section 136.1 of the Employment Standards Code and Section 63.3 of the Employment Standards Regulation outline the publication of variances, exemptions and orders.
