The Physical Activity and Recreation (PAR) program offers operating grants to eligible physical activity and recreation sector organizations.
These grants support the Sport, Physical Activity and Recreation (SPAR) branch’s goal of of supporting affordable access to sport and recreation opportunities through funding for the delivery of sport, physical activity, and recreation programming to improve Alberta youth and families’ health and wellbeing.
The PAR operating grant provides funding to:
- Support the capacity of provincial scope non-profit physical activity and recreation organizations.
- Increase the number of Albertans engaging in physical activity and active recreation.
- Provide engagement, leadership, and certification supports to the physical activity and recreation sector.
There are three operating grant streams:
- Activity Specific stream
- Engagement Operating stream
- Leadership and Certification stream
