Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee (OPGT)

Services, tools and support for vulnerable Albertans, their families and stakeholders.

Introduction

The OPGT assists people with a variety of services, information and resources in the areas of guardianship services, trusteeship services, capacity assessment information and court applications, complaints about guardians, trustees and agents, and advance planning.

When submitting a court application for guardianship, trusteeship or co-decision-making, provide the email and phone number for all parties notified about your application.

To find out more, see About the OPGT.

If you receive payments from the Public Trustee by cheque, contact your worker to set up direct deposit so your payment is not impacted by the possible Canada Post service disruption.
