Overview
Land conservation and reclamation guidelines and practices have evolved in Alberta. Currently, they outline a range of regulatory directions, including:
- guiding principles for conservation and reclamation of specified lands
- specific factors affecting planning and field operations of conservation and reclamation projects
- guidance for managing challenging situations caused by adverse weather conditions, third-party impact or weed problems
The Alberta government uses several formats for the guidelines:
- conservation and reclamation letter (C&R IL)
- industry directive (ID)
- remediation and reclamation fact sheet (R&R)
- fully developed guideline publications
