Overview

This page contains publications, regulations and prescribed forms related to the treatment of patients who have been injured in motor vehicles. This includes information for treatment of injuries within the Diagnostic and Treatment Protocols Regulation (DTPR), as well as for injuries treated under Section B of the Standard Automobile Policy.

  • Care-First Program of Care for Health Care Practitioners – Outlines the role of Health Care Practitioners in Care-First, related to the Program of Care, and key principles for delivering evidence-based, collaborative care in Care-First.
  • Care First Resources for Health Care Practitioners – Includes the following resources for health care practitioners intending to deliver Care-First care and treatment as part of their practice:
    • Care-First Care and Treatment – Provides an overview of the Care-First approach to delivering timely, evidence-based care and supporting recovery after an automobile injury.
    • Care-First Program of Care Overview – Introduces the Program of Care, including its purpose, structure and role in supporting recovery for eligible injuries.

Guideline for Health Care Practitioners

This guideline provides information for insurers, lawyers, and primary health care practitioners (physicians, chiropractors, and physical therapists). The guideline includes information about the DTPR and how it should be applied, as well as claims and billing processes.

Regulations are consolidated up to the most recent amendments as soon as possible. The most recent amendment regulation which has been consolidated is noted at the top of each main regulation (where applicable). Some specific amendment regulations have been included for convenience.
