​Transfers Guide
This general guide has been created to outline the responsibilities and the various options available to Alberta's Petroleum and Natural Gas (PNG), Oil Sands, Coal and Mineral Development and Geothermal Industries, as it pertains to the transfer of ownership of a lease or licence between Alberta registered companies.

Search Agreement (pptx)
The Search Agreements functionality in Transfers enables you to find existing agreements pertaining to registered interests. Using the search results, you can select the agreements and request for a transfer of ownership to another party.

Initiate a Transfer (pptx)
A transfer request is initiated by a transferor client. The types of transfer request include prorate transferor and transferee percentage, set transferor and transferee percentage, variable transferor and transferee percentage, or a request to change the designated representative only.

Work in Progress (pptx)
The Work In Progress functionality of Transfers enables you to retrieve a transfer request, view/change the request status depending on your role, delete a transfer request and create a new request by copying an existing one.

Initiate a Partial Land Transfer (pptx)
A partial land transfer is initiated by a company who wishes to transfer part of a location of their lease or licence to another party. Please note that partial land transfers are not permitted for PNG licences in their initial term.

Land Tenure Clients must provide the department with written notification of their official service address.

​Statutory Declaration Form (docx)
This prescribed statutory declaration is to be used for the revocation and replacement of an non-responsive designated representative.

​Transfers

​Transfer Form (doc)
Transfers of registered interest or partial land in Crown agreements must be submitted electronically through ETS. This manual transfer form is only used in special circumstances.

​How to fill out the Transfer form 

​Notice of Designation, Replacement or Revocation of Representative (doc)
The department must be notified of any changes to the designated representative in relation to a mineral agreement.

Transfer Form - Federal Soldier Settlement Board(SSB) Lease (doc)
Transfers of registered interest in a Federal SSB lease cannot be submitted through ETS. This transfer form is used to process the manual submission of a transfer for a Federal SSB lease.

This letter accompanies the transfer form for a Federal SSB lease when a transfer is manually submitted.
