Overview
Starting January 1, 2027, Alberta’s automobile insurance system will be transitioning to the Care-First model, ensuring Albertans have access to better, faster, and more reliable automobile insurance. This transition requires many amendments to Alberta’s standard automobile insurance forms.
Draft forms are shared for insurer reference. They are not approved forms and should not be used or referenced as such. When we add a draft form to this list, we will email a notice to Alberta-licensed automobile insurers using their preferred email address as recorded in our insurance company registry.
We expect to finalize these draft forms in early fall 2026. Once finalized, they will be posted at automobile insurance and insurers will be notified by email. Some draft form amendments are not related to Care-First. However, they are being made concurrently and have been included with the Care-First drafts for insurer reference.
