Employers must follow a specific process and meet requirements when hiring a TFW in Alberta.

Using an employment agency or recruiter

Any person assisting an employer in securing or attempting to secure individuals for employment in Alberta, including TFWs, must be licensed as an Employment Agency Business under the Consumer Protection Act.

Employment agencies are prohibited from charging a job seeker any fees related to the securing of employment.
