Overview

Course or event coordinators can apply for continuing education credits to recognize pesticide applicator attendance during a meeting, informational session, workshop, clinic or other training event that meets the requirements for pesticide applicator recertification.

This training needs to be completed through a continuing education program as specified by the Standard for Pesticide Education, Training and Certification in Canada.

Application requirements

  1. Credit applications must be submitted at least 3 weeks before the event or session is held.
  2. Requests for credit submitted after the event has occurred will not be approved for credit.

Training concepts

When applying for continuing education credits for your education event, each session within the event is limited to one concept area. The entire session must stay focused within the description of that concept.

Indicate the session names, type of activity, the concepts and subject areas that will be discussed and the time allotment for the session. Note:

  • One credit is awarded for one hour of training. Half credit or sessions less than one hour will not be approved.
  • A maximum of 10 credits will be approved for any session.
  • An applicator can only be credited a maximum of 10 credits in a calendar year.
  • Training dealing with business aspects of pest management or service company management, fertilization, irrigation, commodity storage or marketing cannot be approved for training.
