As Minister of Community and Social Services, I want to assure families who access Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) and Persons with Developmental Disabilities (PDD) programs that eligibility and funding have not changed.

In late June, I became aware of an increase in the waitlist that families and individuals were experiencing. As a result, I instructed the department to address this matter. I am happy to report processes have been improved so families and individuals will receive their service agreements and funding in a timely manner.

I remain committed to working in partnership with you to improve the way our government supports Albertans. My department and I are always willing to hear directly from individuals, families, advocacy groups, service providers and anyone else who interacts with our department. We will continue to monitor our programs and work together with individuals, families, staff and service providers to provide Albertans with the best services we can.
