Authorization Viewer

The Authorization Viewer provides access to a variety of regulatory documents issued by Alberta’s government related to the Water Act and the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act, including:

  • approvals
  • registrations
  • authorizations
  • permits
  • certificates (not including preliminary certificates)

Since May 22, 2025, the Authorization Viewer has not supported searches for water licences and preliminary certificates. Use the Environmental Records Viewer for those searches.

The summary documents on the Authorization Viewer have no legal standing. Original documents can be found through King’s Printer. These documents can be used for interpretation or application of the law.

Environmental Records Viewer

The Environmental Records Viewer uses a provincial map to display the location and details of surface water and groundwater licences, preliminary certificates and pesticide registration authorizations. You can also search for licences or pesticide registration authorizations and view the results in a detailed report.
