Jackie Astrom is the owner and head teacher of École Des Petits Amis, a French immersion pre-school in Airdrie. When schools and daycares in Alberta closed, Jackie took École Des Petits Amis online. Her live, online pre-school classes are available to any parent who wishes to access content. The live classes are 20 to 30 minutes long, and during classes, Jackie sings songs, makes crafts, does science experiments, reads stories and more.
According to one of the parents who nominated Jackie: “She uses her resources and time to be a light to our little ones, and it is not only uplifting for them at a time where they are unsure of what is happening, but to parents as well. It truly gives us something to look forward to with our kids every day.”
