Apply for the Alberta Restorative Justice Grant from July 28, 2025 to August 25, 2025.
Grant purpose
The Alberta Restorative Justice Grant supports the delivery of direct restorative justice services.
The grant may be used to finance the direct operation of a program. Grant uses include:
- wages
- program administration
- training
- associated operational costs
Funding limits
Grants will be limited to:
- up to $50,000 per program for one year
- established or ongoing programs
- new programs in communities with a prior history of
- restorative justice programs or
- restorative practice in the justice system
Not all applications will be funded. Others might be recommended for a lesser amount.
Eligibility
Applicants must be:
- located in Alberta
- one of the following:
- a registered non-profit organization
- a registered charity in good standing
- a community-based coalition or network group with an incorporated fiscal agent
- an Indigenous community, including band and tribal councils
- a youth justice committee applying to fund activities not currently funded by the ministry
- municipalities
Ineligible applicants
- individuals
- academic institutions
- for-profit organizations
- crown corporations
- police services

How to apply
Apply for the Alberta Restorative Justice Grant from July 28, 2025 to August 25, 2025.
Step 1. Read the guidelines
Review the Alberta Restorative Justice Grant guidelines.
Step 2. Complete the application package
- Fill out the Alberta Restorative Justice Grant Application.
- Complete the Alberta Restorative Justice Budget Request form.
Step 3. Gather your documents
Your application must include these documents:
- a certificate of incorporation from Alberta Corporate Registries
- at least 2 letters documenting support or partnership
- one of the 2 letters should come from a supporter in the criminal justice system, such as:
- your local police service
- a crown prosecutor
- a victim servicing organization
Step 4. Submit the application package
Email the application package and all required documents to [email protected].
After you apply
Community Safety Initiatives will contact you to confirm that they got your application package and documents. If you do not hear from us within 10 business days, contact us.
