Overview
Nominations are now open for the 2026 Community Justice Awards. The government will accept nominations until June 30, 2026.
The Ministries of Justice and Public Safety and Emergency Services present the awards every 2 years to acknowledge people, teams and organizations who have made extraordinary contributions towards community justice, public safety and emergency management.
Eligibility
Nominations must be made by a resident of Alberta. Nominations require consent of the nominee, and nominators cannot be related to the nominee.
Eligible nominees
- individuals and teams residing, working and/or volunteering in Alberta
- Alberta-based organizations, inclusive of employees or teams within these organizations, including:
- non-profit organizations
- corporations
- faith-based organizations
- educational institutions
- justice, law enforcement and emergency management organizations
- individuals and teams within Indigenous communities and organizations
Ineligible nominees
- self-nominations
- posthumous nominations
How to nominate
Step 1. Review the guidelines and form
2026 Community Justice Awards Nomination Guidelines and Form
Step 2. Complete the nomination package
Include the following:
- signed nomination form
- letter(s) of support
- additional related information, as available (for example: news articles, photographs, biography, other pertinent materials)
Step 3. Submit the completed package
Email the package to [email protected] by noon on June 30, 2026.
After you apply
Both the nominator and nominee will receive an email acknowledging receipt of the nomination package. All nominations will be reviewed and selected recipients will be notified. Successful recipients will be honoured at the awards ceremony in Lethbridge on October 2, 2026.
