AISH and ADAP payment details

Find out how to receive your payments and when funds will be deposited.

Getting your payments

Payments are made via direct deposit. There are 2 ways to set it up:

  1. Prepare your own direct deposit forms:
    • fill in and sign the Direct Deposit Registration form and
      • write VOID on an unsigned cheque and attach it to the form, or
      • print your online bank account information, including your name, branch number, bank number and account number, and attach it to the form
    • provide the documents to an AISH or ADAP worker
  2. Get help from your bank:
    • have your bank help fill in, stamp and sign the Direct Deposit Registration form
    • sign the form
    • provide the form to an AISH or ADAP worker
    • get a document from your bank that includes your name and banking information

If you are unable to set up direct deposit, contact an AISH or ADAP worker.

Protecting your privacy

We do not share information about your benefits with your bank. We only use this information to deposit funds directly into your account.

If you change your bank account

Contact an AISH or ADAP worker as soon as possible.

If you do not have a bank account

You must have a bank account at a bank or credit union to set up direct deposit. Contact an AISH or ADAP worker if you cannot open a bank account.

Monthly statement

You will get a statement from AISH or ADAP after your deposit is made showing the date, amount of your deposit and a breakdown of the income you received. Your statement may also include important messages such as information about your benefits.

If you are eligible for a Health Benefits Card, it will be sent to you.

Payment dates

The monthly payment for AISH, ADAP and Income Support (IS) occurs 4 business days before the first of the month. Benefits issued by direct deposit are deposited 4 business days before the first of the month. Benefits issued by cheque are mailed 6 business days before the first of the month.
