Wildfires of note - May 26, 2025

Alberta Wildfire application:

There are two wildfires of note in the Forest Protection Area of Alberta. 

Wildfire north of Swan Hills (SWF076)

Wildfire SWF076 is located about 8 km north of Swan Hills and 7 km west of highway 33. This wildfire is currently classified as out of control and about 1,606 hectares in size. 

Helicopters and heavy equipment operators are working to suppress this wildfire along the southern side. Night vision equipped helicopters worked on containing the wildfire overnight.

Wildfire west of Mercoal (EWF030)

Wildfire EWF030 is located 6 km west of Mercoal and 16 km southwest of Robb. The wildfire is currently classified as out of control and about 393 hectares in size.

Firefighters, helicopters and heavy equipment operators are working to suppress this wildfire along the eastern side. Night vision equipped helicopters worked on containing the wildfire overnight.
