There is one wildfire of note in Alberta.
Wildfire LCU002 is a mutual aid wildfire located in the Redwater Provincial Recreation Area.
The estimated size of the wildfire is 3,200 hectares. The municipality has the wildfire classified as out of control. Alberta Wildfire's incident management team has assumed responsibility for firefighting operations and continues to work closely with Sturgeon County to coordinate firefighting efforts.
Alberta Wildfire is supporting suppression efforts with firefighters, helicopters, heavy equipment and airtankers. Two night vision helicopters are supporting municipal fire crews working over night.
Sturgeon County has evacuation alerts and orders in place for the safety of residents. For more information please visit the Sturgeon County website.
