There is one wildfire of note in Alberta
Wildfire LCU002 is a mutual aid wildfire* located in the Redwater Provincial Recreation Area. The estimated size of the wildfire is 1,500 hectares, and it is classified as out of control. Alberta Wildfire has deployed an incident management team to the wildfire and is supporting suppression efforts with firefighters, helicopters, heavy equipment and airtankers.
Sturgeon County has evacuation alerts and orders in place for the safety of residents. For more information please visit the Sturgeon County website.
*A mutual aid wildfire is a wildfire outside of the Forest Protection Area and assistance is being provided by Alberta Wildfire to the lead agency.
