Red Earth East Complex
The Red Earth East complex is composed of numerous wildfires centered in the northeastern portion of the Slave Lake Forest Area. Some of the wildfires in the complex include:
- SWF092 near Red Earth Creek and Loon Lake First Nation is classified as out of control and currently 76,891 hectares (ha);
- SWF100 on the west side of Peerless Lake, along Highway 686, is classified as out of control and is currently 16,841 ha.
Firefighters are reinforcing containment lines, with the support of heavy equipment, helicopters and airtankers.

- Peerless and Trout Lake
- Red Earth Creek
- Loon River First Nation

Sousa Creek wildfire (HWF036)
The Sousa Creek wildfire is approximately 5 km south of the community of Chateh, 72 km west of the Town of High Level, and 27 km east of the Town of Rainbow Lake. This wildfire is classified as out of control and estimated at 45,239 ha in size.
Firefighters are continuing their work along and within the perimeter, focusing on the north and northeast sides to secure and reinforce containment lines. They are working alongside heavy equipment and helicopters with water buckets when conditions allow.
Slims Creek wildfire (PWF050)
The Slims Creek wildfire is 30 km north of the town of Manning and estimated to be 21,000 ha in size. Cooler temperatures and rainy conditions have slowed fire growth. Firefighters continue to work on building containment lines with heavy equipment and helicopters.
Highway 35 is open between Hawk Hills and Keg River with speed reductions in place due to decreased visibility with smoke conditions.
Twin Lakes Provincial Recreation Area is in the vicinity of this fire and also remains closed at this time.

Blue Sky wildfire (SWF088)
The Blue Sky wildfire is located 22 km north of Marten Beach. It is classified as out of control and is estimated to be 13,684 hectares.
Recent rainfall has significantly reduced fire activity. Firefighters are being supported by airtankers and helicopters conducting bucket operations along the wildfire, working on containment and limiting further spread.
Kiskatinaw River wildfire (GBZ001)
The Kiskatinaw River wildfire is located near Kelly Lake, B.C. Alberta Wildfire, the BC Wildfire Service, and the County of Grande Prairie continue to work together to contain this wildfire, which remains classified as out of control. The fire is estimated to be 26,627 hectares in size.
Firefighting crews are working on strengthening containment lines, supported by aircraft. Heavy equipment continues work on building a fireguard on the northeast side of the fire.
Caribou Lake Wildfire (LWF090)
The Caribou Lake wildfire (LWF090) is currently burning out of control and is an estimated 68,154 ha in size.
Recent rain has reduced the fire behaviour. Firefighters continue to build containment lines with the support of heavy equipment.
