Chantelle de Jonge, MLA for Chestermere-Strathmore and parliamentary secretary for Affordability and Utilities, will join lawmakers from across the western U.S. for a three-day forum of elected officials from across the western U.S. focused on advancing solutions to the region's most pressing energy challenges.
MLA de Jonge will leverage conversations and sessions with legislators and industry leaders to promote how Alberta’s abundant energy resources and new technology leadership can help contribute to U.S. grid reliability and ensure the U.S. has the energy supply it needs to meet growing demand across the U.S. West.
“The Western Energy Caucus provides an important opportunity to build relationships with legislators across the western U.S. and share Alberta's perspective as a leader in responsible energy development. By strengthening partnerships, we can advance energy security, support responsible growth and create lasting economic benefits on both sides of the border.”
The invitation-only Western Energy Caucus was established in 2025 by the Institute for Western Energy. It convenes legislators from 11 western states (Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming) to encourage collaboration on energy issues, including grid reliability, low-emission energy generation and storage, wildfire mitigation and carbon management and sequestration.
Mission expenses will be posted on the travel and expense disclosure page.
