There is one wildfire of note in the province.

Red Earth East Complex

The Red Earth East Complex includes 7 active wildfires that are located east of Highway 88. All wildfires in this complex are classified as being held or under control.

The following being held wildfires are near communities:

  • SWF085, which impacted the community of Chipewyan Lake, is 137,474 hectares (ha) in size. The wildfire threat to the community remains minimal.
  • SWF089 is located approximately 5.5 km east of Peerless Lake and is 12,382 ha in size.
  • SWF092 is located approximately 7 km southeast of Red Earth Creek and 8.5 km west of Trout Lake. The wildfire is 82,598 ha in size.
  • SWF094 is located approximately 31 km northwest of Chipewyan Lake and is 73,670 ha in size.
  • SWF100 is located approximately 5 km west of Peerless Lake and is 18,005 ha in size.

These wildfires are large and smoke may still be visible at times.

Evacuation Order
