Transportation of dangerous goods

Alberta has regulations and inspectors to ensure dangerous goods are safely transported on provincial roads.

Introduction

Alberta EDGE (Environmental and Dangerous Goods Emergencies) operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week to provide information to the general public and industries on dangerous goods compliance.

Alberta EDGE is also an emergency response centre for all Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) incidents.

In focus

Companies failing to comply with regulations while handling and transporting dangerous goods are subject to progressive discipline.

Inspectors enforce the acts and the regulations that help ensure the safe handling and transporting of dangerous goods.
