Subscribe to energy news and bulletins

Introduction

These electronic subscription lists are maintained through an automated system and you can subscribe or unsubscribe to each one directly from this page. A notification will be sent by email at the time of publishing for each list.

Email issues

Users of the Alberta Energy and Minerals (AEM) subscription services with Shaw webmail and Google mail (Gmail) as their email provider will not receive notifications for Alberta Energy and Minerals subscriptions such as Information Letters and Bulletins.

Shaw webmail and Google mail (Gmail) have recently implemented additional security features that result in these emails being rejected.

The Alberta government information and technology department is aware of the issue and is looking for a solution. Until a solution is determined, users are encouraged to visit the AEM website to access the Information Bulletins and Information Letters.

How to subscribe or unsubscribe

Subscribe

From the list below select "Subscribe" on the list you would like to join. This should launch a new message in your email application with pre-populated information (subscribe to XX). When you send the email a confirmation email will be sent to you if you do not reply your request will be cancelled.

Unsubscribe

From the list below select "Unsubscribe" on the list you no longer want to receive. This should launch a new message in your email application with pre-populated information (unsubscribe to XX). When you send the email you will be sent confirmation of your removal from the list.

Email changes

Change email address

If your email address is changing it is important for you to unsubscribe from each distribution list individually using your old email address, the re-subscribe to the each applicable distribution lists you wish to continue to receive information from.

Undelivered and old email addresses

If it is believed that the 'undeliverable' mail is a result of an old email address, then measures will be taken to have these email addresses removed.

Manual instructions

Subscribe using email

To manually subscribe and ADD your email address to the mailing list, follow the steps below.

Single subscriptions

1. Open a new message in your email program

2. In the 'TO'  box, enter: [email protected]

3. In the 'SUBJECT' box: type one of the following:

The message should read [subscribe + space + the name of the 'list' you are writing to]. There should not be any additional information in the body of the message; otherwise the "subscribe" will not work.

4. Send – When completed, you will receive an email confirming the addition of your email address to the list. You will need to respond to the confirmation email or the subscribe process will be cancelled.

5. Reply to confirmation email – Reply to the confirmation email when it arrives to finalize your subscription. If not replied to, the system will cancel your subscription.

Unsubscribe using email

To manually unsubscribe and remove your email address from the mailing list, follow the steps below.

Please note: You may only unsubscribe to one list at a time. A separate email must be sent to unsubscribe to additional lists.

The message should read [unsubscribe listname (the name of the 'list' you are writing to)].

When completed, you will receive an email confirming the removal of your email address from the list.
