Very High wildfire danger
The wildfire danger in the Rocky Mountain House Forest Area remains very high. Vegetation is extremely dry, and wildfires can spread quickly under these conditions. If you are spending time outdoors, use extreme caution across the area.
Wildfire situation
RWF033 was discovered earlier today and is classified as being held at approximately 13 hectares. This wildfire is located north of the Town of Rocky Mountain House, near the junction of Highway 22 and Highway 12. Firefighters remain on scene and continue working toward extinguishment. Increased activity can be expected in the area as Rocky Mountain House Forest Area staff, helicopters and municipal firefighters continue suppression efforts.
Since January 1, 2026, the Rocky Mountain House Forest Area has responded to 34 wildfires.

Fire advisory
A fire advisory is in effect for the Rocky Mountain House Forest Area. Under this advisory:
- Existing fire permits are valid, but extension requests may not be granted.
- New fire permits will be issued on a case-by-case basis, for essential burning only.
- Safe campfires are allowed.
