Resources for professionals who have met the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee (OPGT) requirements to do capacity assessments.

Training and workshops

The 3-day capacity assessment course is mandatory to be a designated capacity assessor. Designated capacity assessors are able to complete decision-making capacity assessments under the Adult Guardianship and Trusteeship Act.

The course is presented by the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee (OPGT) and takes place virtually on Microsoft Teams.

This training is only available to:

  • registered social workers
  • registered occupational therapists
  • registered nurses
  • registered psychiatric nurses
