Applicants will receive a declaration on scroll paper recognizing the occasion for that specific date.
Guidelines
Organizations may request recognition of dates that hold significance and have a connection to Alberta as long as they follow the guidelines.
Special days, weeks or months must meet the following criteria:
- recognize important events, milestones, cultural groups and organizations that directly impact or connect with the province of Alberta
- be apolitical
- not be offensive
- adhere to the principles in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the Alberta Human Rights Act
Submit your request for a Ministerial Declaration 4 to 6 weeks before the occasion.
