Services and information

The Chief Scientist is appointed through Ministerial Order to provide oversight on Alberta’s environmental monitoring and science program.

The IWAP helps the Chief Scientist apply Indigenous knowledge and experience to Alberta’s environmental monitoring efforts.

The Science Advisory Panel provides independent review and recommendations on Alberta’s environmental science program.

Introduction

The Office of the Chief Scientist is responsible for developing and implementing an environmental science program to monitor, evaluate and report on the condition of Alberta’s environment.
