Wildfire situation
There is currently 1 under control wildfire in the Lac La Biche Forest Area.
Since January 1, 2026, there have been 90 wildfires in the Lac La Biche Forest Area and approximately 2,394 hectares have burned.
Agricultural fire prevention

Fire permits are required
From March 1 to October 31, a fire permit is required for all burning activities in the Forest Protection Area (FPA), excluding campfires. The use of fireworks and exploding targets within the FPA is prohibited year-round without a permit. Permits are free and can be requested online or by calling the Lac La Biche Forest Area office at 780-623-5388. Always follow safe burning practices.
