Overview
Maintaining your Income Support file means keeping your information up to date to ensure uninterrupted assistance. This includes reporting changes, updating progress on your action plan, submitting required documents and responding to requests from the program.
Your responsibilities
Keeping your file accurate ensures you continue receiving the support you need without delays or interruptions. If information is missing or outdated, payments could be delayed.
Submit required documents
Make sure to provide renewal forms, proof of expenses, and any additional paperwork requested on time. Use the document submission application.
Changes to report
If you receive a request for information or updates, or experience a change in your circumstances, act promptly to avoid delays.
Changes to report include:
- employment
- medical condition
- number of children and dependents
- marital or relationship status
- children turning 18 years old
- ability to work or take training
- assets you or your spouse or partner have
- income you or your spouse or partner receive
- eligibility for health benefits from another program
- address, phone number or other contact information
- location if you, your spouse/partner or dependent children:
- move to another home
- leave Alberta for more than 30 days
- move away from Alberta permanently
- stay in hospital, or live in a nursing home,
- mental health facility, group home or prison
