Overview
Highway 27 plays a key role in supporting the growth and development of several central Alberta communities. Within the Town of Sundre, Highway 27 is also a designated Over Sized Over Weight (OSOW) route. This project supports safer, more efficient travel through this area.
In 2025, Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors completed work within the Town of Sundre, including the installation of:
- Permanent mini roundabouts at 2, 3 and 4 Street (West) intersections
- Intersection improvements at 1 Street (West) (right-in, right-out)
- Highway 27 and Highway 760 intersection signalization
- Pavement rehabilitation, improvements to curbs, gutters, sidewalks, access management and lighting.
The final stage of the project includes the construction of a dual lane roundabout at Highways 27/22/584/Range Road 54 (10 Street). View the intersection 990 plan.
