With increased temperatures and no rain in the forecast, the wildfire danger remains very high in the Grande Prairie Forest Area. Wildfires can easily start and spread in these conditions. Use caution with any outdoor activity that could spark a fire.

Wildfire GWF111
Wildfire GWF111 is classified as out of control at 44 hectares (ha). It is located 12 km northwest of Nose Creek Settlement near Lingell Creek. Despite warmer temperatures, light winds helped limit the spread of the fire over the past few days. Firefighters continue to work to contain this fire with the support of helicopters and heavy equipment.
Evacuation alert: Nose Creek Subdivision
An evacuation alert is now in place for Nose Creek Subdivision. If you are in the affected area, prepare to evacuate if the situation worsens. There is no evacuation required at this time.

Wildfire GBZ001 - Kiskatinaw River wildfire
The Kiskatinaw River wildfire, which started in British Columbia on May 28, is being held. It is estimated at 26,195 hectares (ha) in size and is located along the Alberta–British Columbia border, approximately 68 km west of Grande Prairie. This wildfire was caused by lightning. The BC Wildfire Service is leading the response to this wildfire with Alberta Wildfire providing support as needed. An area restriction limits access to some areas on the B.C. side of the border.

Fire advisory
A fire advisory is in effect for the Grande Prairie Forest Area.
Under this advisory:
- Existing fire permits are valid. Remember fire permits are not valid in winds over 12 km/h
- New fire permits will be issued on a case-by-case basis, for essential burning only.
- Any burning without a valid fire permit, other than a campfire, is prohibited.
- Fireworks and exploding targets are prohibited.
