The wildfire danger in the Grande Prairie Forest Area is now moderate.
Warmer temperatures and wind have increased the overall wildfire risk. Wildfires can still start under these conditions, particularly in dry areas and when winds are present. Please continue to use caution with outdoor burning, as well as with any work or recreational activities that could spark a wildfire.

Campfire safety
If you’re going camping this weekend, check Alberta Fire Bans to find out if fire bans or restrictions are in place.
Abandoned campfires cause wildfires every year in Alberta. These human-caused wildfires are completely preventable. Never leave a campfire unattended and always fully extinguish it when you are done. Soak it, stir it and soak it again, until the coals are cool to the touch.
